"Look, brothers," said Catball, "it's the Adventure Satchel!"
The catball brothers knew the Adventure Satchel well--they traveled all around Japonica in it, and they know that when the Adventure Satchel is deployed, adventure is usually stuffed therein soon after.
"It seems the people are getting ready to go somewhere," said Oblong. "I wonder if they intend on leaving us behind on this one?"
A great murmuring arose amongst the brothers. None of them had heard any mention of adventures, none had been instructed by their humans to get their pith helmets or scuba gear ready. None of them had made plane arrangements, either.
"There is strength in numbers, brothers," said Catball steadily, and today our strength shall be DECEPTION. I will stowaway in the Adventure Satchel, while you five remain up here with Whale Shark. Let us hope the people do not notice that our couchbound six has been reduced to five. I will ensure that their adventure is safe but happy, and that they return to us all."
The others nodded their approval of the plan. Catball hopped into the satchel and awaited whatever would come next with eager anticipation.
